JOY IN GRIEF
VIRTUAL WRITING WORKSHOP HOSTED BY ALEX ELLE
Grief and joy are not opposites—they are companions.
In this two-hour virtual gathering, we will create space to honor both. Together, we’ll write, reflect, and practice ways to explore how grief and joy can co-exist, teaching us to live with more compassion, clarity, and care. This [virtual] workshop is for anyone navigating loss, life transitions, or who is seeking clarity in their healing.
In community, we will seek to reconnect with moments of joy without dismissing our pain.
This session’s co-teacher is Josefina Herrera .
TOGETHER, WE WILL EXPLORE:
Grounding in Both Grief & Joy: We’ll begin with gentle breathwork and reflection, creating space to acknowledge the grief you carry while noticing the joy that still exists alongside it.
Guided Writing Practices: Through intentional prompts, you’ll write letters to both your grief and your joy, gaining language and clarity for your inner landscape.
Grief & Joy Mapping: Using a simple visual journaling practice, you’ll explore how these two experiences overlap and where they can support one another in your life.
Practical Tools for Daily Life: You’ll walk away with a 7-day micro-practice plan, resources, and simple tools for tending to your boundaries, buoying yourself through hard days, and embracing joy without guilt.
YOU WILL WALK AWAY WITH:
Deeper Self-Awareness: Clarity around the grief you’re carrying and the ways joy still shows up in your life.
Practical Writing Tools: Reflective prompts and journaling practices you can return to whenever you need grounding.
Healing & Resilience Practices: Simple, everyday tools for holding all parts of yourself while healing, growing, and changing.
Community & Connection: The experience of being witnessed in a gentle, nonjudgmental space with others who are navigating similar journeys.
